Betty Grauberger is going to Jail!  Yup…..on October 27^th to raise money for MDA….please help by donating on line or by calling MDA and donating in her behalf so she will not have to stay there forever…..now, now…..I know some of you think that would be a good idea, but it is an even better idea if you are able to help get her out.   You may also donate at La Mariposa Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. on October 27^th or at the Senior Center from now until the 27^th on Tuesday mornings.   And thanks so much for all of your help!!!!!! 

Senior Breakfasts are back on the first Thursday of  each month at 9:00 a.m….of course that means November 3rd for our next big one!  The Pikes do great things cooking for you and the cost is just $4.00 for all you can put in your little tummies…….it is good down home cookin’ and we hope you will join us.   No reservations necessary.

SAN ANTONIO in March from the 17^th thru the 25^th is now in the registration process…. Cost……double occupancy $815.00 double occupancy and an additional $240.00 for single occupancy.   It will include but is not limited to all transportation, all lodging, 14 meals (8 Breakfasts and 6 dinners), San Antonio Guided Tour, Cruise at the famous River Walk District, Alamo and Imax presentations; the Institute of Texan Cultures, San Antonio Missions and the LBJ Ranch.  March is a particularly beautiful time in San Antonio as the flowers are coming into bloom and it is a nice comfortable temperature.  You can get further information and sign up at the Recreation Desk.  Since we are only in the office at the senior center on Tuesdays, we hope you will call   475-1125 (Recreation Desk) for questions and answers regarding our trips and schedules. 

Our trip  to NYC which will be in April 10 – 20, 2012 for the sights and sounds of World Trade Center, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Wall Street, Ellis Island and Liberty Island (home of the Statue of Liberty), and much more…..registration will begin September 20^th.  Price $1165.00 per person, double occupancy includes the above plus all transportation, lodging, and 18 meals.  If you are interested in flying and meeting us in NYC, there is a separate cost……$$690.00 and you must make your own reservations for air travel….please speak to Betty at 834-1478 for particulars on flying.

Last chance to get a Flu Shot here at the Evans Senior Center will be on October 18^th in the morning.  If you have not had your shot yet this year, we hope you will consider doing so very soon…..you are a very important person to us and we want to keep you healthy!
