Senior Breakfasts are once again on the first Thursday each month here at the senior center.   $4.50 for all you can eat and no reservations required.   See you on the 5th of April. There will be NO LUNCHES ON FRIDAY in April.   We will resume in May on the the 3rd Friday or the 18th……thereafter there will be only ONE FRIDAY LUNCH per month and that will continue to be on the third Friday.   The Meal will be a meat, potatoes and vegetable style of lunch and will begin at 11:00 a.m.   We are requesting that you sign up of the meal the same as you do for Tuesday lunches with Dorothy Hoff so the caterer will know how much meat to prepare.   We hope you will continue to support this great socialization time for all of us.   Questions and comments should be directed to Betty at 834-1478.

All you Veterans out there….young, old, male, female….we don’t care when or where you served this Country we are just so proud of you and your service.   We are beginning an new endeavor to get Vets together monthly at the Golden Corral.   The first meeting for fun and story sharing was small, we intend to get bigger as we go.  Our next meeting will be April 7th at the Golden Corral at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast.   We hope you will consider joining us.

The Medicare Man (Don Andersen) will be holding a special information session for folks concerned about loosing their coverage from Kodak and other businesses.   If you would like to attend, the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th at approximately 12:30 p.m. or immediately following senior lunch.

WOW….what a wonderful response we have had to our upcoming Fall Color trip to the beautiful ISLE OF COUDRES in the Charlevoix Region of Quebec, Canada in the St. Lawrence Seaway.   If you have never been to this area, we would encourage you to come along especially since the colors should be quite magnificent during this time of year.   The dates are September 19th thru October 1st, 2012 and the price is $1465.00 per person based upon double occupancy with a deposit of $250.00 due upon registration.   This trip includes all transportation, all lodging for 12 nights including 3 nights on the Island, 23 meals, the Casino De Charlevoix, guided tours of Coudres, Montreal, and Quebec City;  Picture perfect Bais Saint Paul in Charlevois, the St. Ann De Beaupre Shrine, the Montreal Museum of fine arts and much, much more including the blue of the waters and the colors of all provided by God’s own hand…..a memory worth making for your bucket list.   This trip has limited capacity because of the limited space available on this quaint and beautiful island, so don’t wait too long to decide on your participation.  Registration begins on April 1st…… Brochures are available at the Evans Community Complex at the Recreation Desk for your convenience where you may also register.

Bunco and Mexican Train Dominos folks….come and join us for a fun time on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month immediately following Senior Lunch (About 12:30 p.m.)  Don’t know how to play….easy and we will be glad to teach you.   Our Card players are still playing on Wednesdays every week. We start to play at 12:30 except for the first Wednesday of the month when we have a potluck at 12:00.  We play hand & foot canasta and pinochle.

And don’t forget that we also have exercise for seniors, an art class you might be interested in and Senior Tap Dancing class as well as a traveling entertainment group called Syncopation Station that would love to come and entertain your group.

Our thought for this week….”Political interest [can] never be separated in the long run from moral right.”— Thomas Jefferson, American Founding Father and U.S. president (1743-1826), letter to James Monroe, 1806
