Pro-lifers have said they are not surprised that a seminary affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA is honoring the president and chairman of the board of Planned Parenthood.
Auburn Seminary in New York is honoring Cecile Richards and Cecilia Guthrie as “champions for reproductive healthcare, education and women’s health.” Carmen Fowler LaBerge, of the Presbyterian Lay Committee, says it stems from the idea within the denomination “that you should hold the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other, which has resulted in significant cultural accommodation.”
Fowler says while she is not surprised that the seminary would have speakers in who strongly advocate for abortion as a right, that does not mean she agrees with it.
“”The fact is the right we’re talking about is the right to kill an unborn child,” she said, “No human being has that right. God does not give us that right.”
Planned Parenthood is an organization that was founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger who noted that her goal was to exterminate the black race. Planned Parenthood still honors Sanger by naming its highest award after her. Today, the organization is the nation’s largest abortion provider, performing about 300,000 abortions a year.
The organization frequently spends millions of dollars in attempts to defeat initiatives that would place any type of restriction on abortion such as personhood movements. Planned Parenthood also vigorously fights any attempt to require abortion clinics to be inspected and regulated for safety and health issues the same as other same day clinics are. The organization has also been investigated multiple times by state and federal officials over issues related to billing fraud.
While it might seems appalling for a denomination to support such an organization and its goals, the Presbyterian Church has adopted many other liberal positions over the years.
The church was founded by John Calvin who believed in strict Christian standards and morals as a condition of membership. However, if Calvin were alive today he would not recognize his church.
In addition to honoring the head of an organization that advocates for the right to kill an unborn child, the church has also embraced homosexuality by ordaining homosexual priests and supporting same-sex marriage.

Abortion is of the devil and is the biggest killer of children on earth. It really does not matter how it is dressed up as something positive. It represents mass death. Now Christians have been infiltrated by devils and are singing the same evil song.
