Jessie Jerke’s story to be featured on Mystery Diagnosis

by Peter Grady –

A local family will have their daughter’s plight with an unnamed illness that eventually took her life featured on Mystery Diagnosis, Monday evening, July 16.

In 2009, Jessie Jerke became dizzy following a root canal. A mystery illness soon overcame her body. Despite trips to multiple doctors at the Mayo Clinic, on April, 5 of last year, 21 year old Jessie succumbed to the unknown illness.

In January, Mike Mathis Productions in Los Angeles contacted her parents, Bill and Jeannie Jerke about doing a feature on Jessie’s life for Mystery Diagnosis.

The couple said after careful consideration, they gave their approval for the show. “After reflection and prayer we decided that Jessie would want her story told as a way to reach out to others for God.”

The producers spent an entire day filming at Children’s Hospital in Denver and conducted extensive interviews with the family, including their son Ryan and Jessie’s friend, Ishmi Omafoma.

The show will be broadcast Monday night, July 16th at 8:00pm Mountain time on the Discovery Fitness and Health network. It will air on Comcast channel 222 and Directv channel 261.

The Jerke’s are inviting the public to join them Monday evening at Randy’s Diner for the event. Randy’s is located in the Westlake Shopping Center at 20th St. and 35th Ave.
