Windsor Lake closed after complaints of illness

The Town of Windsor on Monday closed Windsor Lake until further notice after swimmers there reported becoming ill.

Melissa Chew, director of Parks, Recreation and Culture for the Town of Windsor said samples taken from the lake outside the beach out-of-bounds area Friday tested positive for the E. coli bacteria. She said additional testing was conducted Monday at other parts of the beach with results expected Tuesday.

The town said late Monday it would post an announcement at www.windsorgov.com when the lake is re-opened.
