EVANS- The Evans Police Department was able to successfully locate a missing 9 year old who was reportedly abducted Sunday evening.
Police officers in Evans were notified at around 8:30 p.m. that a 9 year old girl had been missing from the 2900 block of Glendale since 8 pm on Aug. 5.
Following an extensive search of the area, officers were able to locate her near the 3100 block of 17th Ave. around 9:45 p.m.
The 9 year old girl reported that she was abducted by an unknown male who was wearing a black mask while she was standing outside the 2900 block of Glendale Ave. She said the male, who was driving a red-colored 4-door sedan with black colored pinstripe down the side, pulled up alongside of her and forced her into the vehicle.
She then said he drove her to the location where police located her , where she got out of the car. While no injuries were identified, as a precaution the girl was taken to North Colorado Medical Center. She later returned home with her family.
At present the male remains unidentified. Police continue to investigate the situation and anyone with information is urged to call the Evans Police Department at 970-339-2441.
