Obama says Chicago gun policy will work in Colorado?

No surprise that ‘Berkely.edu’ would spread the wrong ‘facts’

In the “war-torn” city of Chicago, Illinois, hundreds of Americans have been killed by armed criminals this year. But Barack Obama and the Democratic platform repeated, almost verbatim, a plank from their 2008 platform that read, “We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation, but we know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne.”

The 2012 Obama gun control platform plank simply reads, “We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation.” While he may be able to sell the idea to his followers that the private sector is doing fine, he was forced to face the truth that more Americans have been killed in Chicago since he was a ‘community organizer’ there on the south side than have been killed in Kabol Afghanistan. Hundreds this year alone!

What few votes he has actually recorded as an elected official show that he didn’t choose to vote ‘not present’ when he had a chance to vote to ban commonly owned rifles and shotguns. Furthermore, he actually voted against legal protections for people who would choose to defend themselves or their families from deadly attacks.

But even the Obama controlled Federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have released the results of studies of gun-control laws such as waiting periods, registration, and total bans on as many types of guns as the local government can get approved. The CDC studies conclude that the idea that gun control laws have reduced violent crime is simply a myth!

Chicago’s gun ban was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2010. But, as we have learned these past three years of the Obama presidency, laws and Court rulings that don’t follow the ideology of the Obama government simply get ignored or officially un-enforced.

And so, innocent law-abiding citizens, unable to protect themselves in the criminal safe zone Obama helped create in Chicago, now face a murder rate that might even exceed the infamous violence of Bogota, Columbia.

If Obama is re-elected and follows the platform he has built for the Democratic Party this year, it is clear that the same anti-gun policies that “work for Chicago” will very probably be forced on Cheyenne and Greeley and every other city in America that isn’t as safe as Chicago!

From the Chicago Sun-Times this weekend…(and it was a slow week):

“5 dead, 23 wounded in shootings since Friday night”

Ummm, no thanks, Obama! That definitely does NOT work for Colorado!
