Judicial Watch is an independent conservative watchdog group fighting for accountability of government officials at the federal level since 1994. Judicial Watch’s mission is to fight public corruption. In 2013 that means they will be fighting radical power grabs, corruption, and above all else, the compulsive secrecy of the Obama administration.
Over the past four years JW has filed nearly 100 Freedom of Information Act requests to acquire information that the public has every right to know. Time and time again the Obama administration has spent taxpayer money to take JW and others to court to stop the release of public information about what the central government has done with our money.
If it were not for JW and other public interest groups winning the release of public records under court order, the Fast and Furious gun selling scheme by the Obama administration might never have been tied directly to Attorney General Eric Holder and then to Obama’ by his own admission’ through the claim of executive privilege – an action which equates to taking refuge behind the fifth amendment to avoid having to incriminate oneself in court.
Another long court battle finally exposed the money trail of the half a billion dollars leading from the taxpayers’ pockets through the 2008 Obama campaign contribution purse through Solyndra and finally into the pockets of major campaign contributer George Kaiser and others. This was another example of corruption uncovered by JW forced to fight the administration in court for public records.
The court cases are numerous and ongoing, and even special investigators within the administration have passed a recommendation of criminal action be pursued against the administration for releasing secret information to the film makers of the movie depicting the capture of Osama bin Laden. But since those actions are the responsibility of the Holder justice department, no action was taken and none is expected in the near future.
The bottom line is this: The federal government under Barack Obama is off the rails and out of control. And now, with Obama having been given the “flexibility” of a second term, it can only be expected to get worse.” Tom Fitton, president, Judicial Watch.
So this week as Obama retakes his oath of office and begins another four years in the White House, Americans should be reminded that this is the fourth year in a row for Obama to be on the Top Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians list. He earned his position with his illegal recess appointments, his record of encouraging illegal immigration by not enforcing the law, his appointment of unconstitutional czars, his secrecy over Benghazi, the bailouts, abusing the perks of office for luxury vacations for his family, and, of course, his personal involvement in the Solyndra scandal, Fast and Furious and the list is growing…
But JW reminds us we shouldn’t forget about other top members of this corrupt administration who also earned these dubious honors of landing on our Top Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians list for 2012. They include Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, UN Ambassador Susan Rice and Secretary of Energy Steven Chu. Also getting a “dishonorable mention” is Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.
Others on the list are: Representative Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL), Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), and Rep. David Rivera (R-FL).
