For most Americans the headline here says it all about what’s been going on in Washington these past few years. But to those who have kept informed, Hillary’s contempt for accountability, as demonstrated by that quote, is typical of both the Obama administration she has run interference for and her open disregard for the law throughout her life: from Whitewater to the FBI files and now to Benghazi she has left a trail of dead bodies but always managed to avoid the smoking gun. Except this time she seems to have gotten too close to the muzzle fire.

When her performance before House and Senate committees ended with her proclaiming that the responsibility for the failures falls on the Assistant Secretary of State level and even lower level State Department employees. Clinton assured the committee that her office had conducted a thorough investigation and concluded the deaths in Benghazi were not her fault. She also assured the congressmen that the lies she and UN Ambassador Susan Rice repeatedly presented to the American people for days after the attacks were not intentional, they were simply the result of poor intelligence.
But public records obtained by hard fought court cases by public interest groups and others prove otherwise. The lies about Benghazi have been discovered to have come from within the White House. Clinton couldn’t avoid the facts this time and neither could she pass the responsibility down the chain of command of her own department. When she was finally faced with undeniable truth presented by adversaries on the hill she could no longer intimidate, she tried every weapon in her arsenal. She pretended to weep for the lost, she presented tears for the families of the killed, she pounded in the desk like Nikita Krushchev at her beloved UN. But she knew she was going to lose this battle. So she resigned in a pre emptive move to survive for another day.

That will prove to be a good move if she hopes to re-enter the war on the big political stage in a year or two. One thing is absolute about the American liberal press, it knows how short the collective public memory is about poltitcians’ doing wrong!

If the republican establishment continues to circle their wagons around the party elitists, surrender every principle of our God given rights for Obama to administer, and blame the grass roots conservatives for their most recent losses, maybe the campaign buttons in four years will read, “Vote Hillary, What difference does it make?”
