Longmont police officer jailed in Fort Collins

Fort Collins Coloradoan – A police officer has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Loveland.

Longmont police Officer Chris Martinchick turned himself into the Larimer County Jail in Fort Collins on Wednesday morning.

He faces possible charges of felony sexual assault and two misdemeanor charges of invasion of privacy for sexual gratification, jail records show. Martinchick is being held on a $25,000 bond.

In a statement, Longmont police said Martinchick was placed on administrative leave July 3, after informing his superiors he was under investigation by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
