Greeley man gets 24 years for child pornography

GREELEY– In Weld County District Court on Wednesday, James Michael Streit was sentenced to 24 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child and failure to register as a sex offender.

District Attorney Ken Buck’s Office prosecuted Streit after Greeley police investigated the convicted sex offender for downloading and producing child pornography, according to police and court records.

Streit had been living with his mother in Greeley and had failed to register as a sex offender – a requirement from a previous conviction in Boulder County.

Streit pleaded guilty May 8 to the sexual exploitation of a child, a class three felony, and failure to register as a sex offender, a class six felony.
