After 40 years, Bertha Lynn signs off KMGH 7 News

Brush News Tribune – Bertha Lynn will sign off from 7News on Friday after 37 years on Denver television, the last 29 with KMGH. Lynn will become executive director of the Children’s Diabetes Fund.

The 11 a.m. broadcast on Friday will be her last.

The much honored anchor began in Denver TV with a summer internship in 1976 and rose through the ranks as reporter and anchor at Channel 9, then KBTV. She joined KMGH in 1984 and became the 11 a.m. news anchor. She has anchored every time period in Denver TV news.

“She is leaving behind a legacy that only a few in the industry can imagine,” said KMGH News Director Jeff Harris. “She is an institution at 7News. She is a true icon in journalism and for Denver viewers.”
