Coloradoan — Online tracking information for Colorado Mosquito Control trucks spraying for mosquitoes in Fort Collins will not be available.
The tracking page was overwhelmed by traffic seeking GPS information on the trucks Wednesday, causing the city’s entire site to crash, said Mike Calhoon, parks supervisor.
Stress tests done Thursday showed the system would be vulnerable to crashing again under heavy demand, preventing residents from accessing basic information about the spraying program, he said. Spraying is expected to start south of Mulberry Street around 8 p.m. and last until 2 a.m.
