Foothills Mall construction delayed by developers

Coloradoan — With just 13 months to go before its scheduled reopening and a $53 million financing agreement with the city of Fort Collins still in negotiations, owners of Foothills Mall acknowledged Monday the project will not be ready in late 2014.

The project will be built as envisioned, but it will take a little longer than original expected, developers said in an email Monday.

“We continue to work through the specifics of a very complex finance agreement with the city. We hope to complete it soon,” said Don Provost, principal of Alberta Development Partners, which bought the beleaguered mall 15 months ago and put it on the fast track to redevelopment.
