Coloradoan — Stay out of my life. This slice of Earth is mine. How I live is none of your business, and you’re not welcome here.
That message is clear to all the senses when visitors approach John Stevens’ home at the corner of Foxtail and Sitka streets in northeast Fort Collins.
“I don’t really like people going into my yard. My yard is my yard,” Stevens said. “I’m maybe a little bit eccentric, but I have a right to be. I don’t believe in being like the guy next door.”
Signs warning visitors that they are being watched by video surveillance, the no trespassing signs and the apparently impenetrable junkyard of a porch say as much.
