Leona Belle (Snelson) Immens

Leona Belle (Snelson) Immens

August 28, 1928 ~ May 4, 2010

Leona (Snelson) Immens of Greeley, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center.  She was born to Clara and Leslie Snelson on August 28, 1928 in Round Lake Minnesota.  She was the 3rd youngest in a family of 9 children.

She married Jack Immens on March 26, 1948.  He preceded her in death in 1976.

The main priority in Leona’s life was her family whom she always was excited to spend time with.  She loved being available to them and helping in any way she could.  Her favorite activities were crocheting, baking, gardening and dancing.  Dancing is where she earned the name “Dancing Grandma” which always brought a smile to her face. She also loved to feed the birds.  That was one thing she missed the most about home.

Leona found vital relationships in her church and was connected to the Presbyterian Church in Round Lake, Minnesota and then to the Calvary Chapel and Christ Community Church both in Greeley.  Her strength and joy came from knowing the Lord and in her last days she was looking forward to dancing in Heaven with Jesus, and she is.

She is survived by her son Leslie W. Immens of Spirit Lake, Iowa; daughter Rosann Holman of Greeley; 3 sisters and 1 brother; grandchildren Travis Ryan, Terry Immens, Melissa Francois and Jessica Carter; great-grandchildren Mara, Savanna, Aiden and Tyson; nieces and nephews.
