Conrad “Coony” Meyer, Jr.

Conrad “Coony” Meyer, Jr., 80, of Greeley died on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Inpatient Unit.  He was born May 24, 1930 in Greeley to Conrad and Elizabeth (Walker) Meyer.

He graduated from College High School, now University High in Greeley and enlisted in the US Navy for two years.  After serving his country, he was a Highway Patrolman for a year and then worked at Sunstrand Aviation.  Mr. Meyer also worked as a butcher at Monfort for nearly 20 years before becoming a custodian at UNC for five years, before retiring.

He married Betty R. Seagren on December 15, 1956 in Greeley.  They were members of the West Greeley Baptist Church, since 1971 and he was very active within the church.

Coony was family oriented and enjoying spending time with all of his family and they loved to travel to California.  He volunteered many hours doing audio-visual at the church and recording services.

Survivors include his wife Betty R. Meyer of Greeley, children Kim (Stefan) Wodylak of Loveland, Sandy (Alan) Lesko of Loveland, Nickie (Brian) Boos of Oak Creek, CO, Kent (Shari) Meyer of Severance and Doug (Diane) Allmer of Lancaster, CA, a brother Ted (Darlene) Meyer of Riverbank, CA and a sister Ruby (Bill) Ankeney of Greeley as well as 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, 1 sister and a nephew Bill Meyer.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at West Greeley Baptist Church.
