What You’ll Need:
Your spouse’s favorite recipe and everything needed to prepare it exactly as they like it.
Soft, romantic music
A willing collaborator who is a close friend of your spouse
Before the Date:
On the day in question, have your collaborator invite your spouse to a movie, some chore, or a girls’ or guys’ afternoon out. Make sure to set a specific return time with your accomplice.
Use the time your spouse is away to shuffle the kids off to the sitter, play dates, sleepovers, et cetera and prepare the meal. It might be helpful to have the meal hidden away and ready to pop in the oven.
When your spouse returns, be dressed as if for an evening out, with the meal on the table, candles glowing, and soft music in the background.
Enjoy an evening with just the two of you.
