A well known Weld County foster parent was arrested this week and charged with sexual assault on a child. Vance Michael Baxter, of Briggsdale, has been accused of molesting three boys that were in his home over a period of several years. Baxter is the son of former Weld County Commissioner George Baxter. Baxter and his wife have been foster parents for many years and have taken in and adopted at least six children from the foster care system in addition to raising their eleven children. According to a source close to the family, who spoke on condition of anonymity, one of the boys came to Baxter’s wife with the allegations and she in turn contacted authorities. Baxter was arrested after Detectives spoke with the three alleged victims. This is just a really sad situation all the way “around, for everyone involved” the source said. Baxter is currently out of jail on a $100,000 bond.

Can’t we just shoot all the sex offenders? There is statistical proof that once you give in to the urges to victimize someone, child or adult, there is no going back. No sex offender has ever reformed in the history of our country.
I have a little brother who molested two of my kids. He would fall into the same, ‘just shoot him’ category.
