Georgia Hosier, 77, of rural Ault went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the McKee Hospice Unit in Loveland.
Georgia was born on February 23, 1933 in Mt. View, Missouri to Ben and Bella Chada. She was raised in Nebraska and married Norman Grant Hosier on January 6, 1951 in Gering, Nebraska. They moved to Colorado in 1953 and lived in Weld County most of their lives. She was a paraplegic after an auto accident in 2000.
Georgia enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza, playing double solitaire and loved all visitors.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Maag of rural Ault, son Ken Hosier of Greeley and several caregivers who became her family, including Bobbi Lehnert, Katie Even, Mandy Ziegler, Donna Harris, Jane Ruff, Dawn Salazar and countless others. She also had two estranged children Larry Hosier of Ault and Sandy Keil of Eaton. Other survivors include her 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Florence Law of Boise, Idaho, brother David Chada of North Platte, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, son-in-law Russell Maag, grandson Marty Maag, two brothers Adolf and Basel Chada and two sisters Clara Croston and Elsie Chada.
Georgia will truly be missed and remembered by all who knew her. She has changed our lives with her enduring spirit.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of choice in Georgia’s name in care of Allnutt, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631. Friends may view the online obit, sign the guest book & send condolences at www.allnutt.com.
