Phyllis A. Benson

Phyllis A. Benson, 88 of Eaton, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Life Care Center in Greeley.

She was born on September 24, 1922 in Ault, Colorado to Braudus O & Moneta V. (Blake) Tormey.

Phyllis graduated from Ault High School in 1941 and she later attended Colorado State University.

She married Carl A. Benson on September 7, 1947 in Denver.  They have lived in Eaton since 1981.

Mrs. Benson worked for the Ault Clinic and the Denver Dry Goods Store in Greeley.  She was a member

of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greeley, the Eaton Country Club and the Extension Club.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Benson of Eaton; 3 daughters and their husbands, Kay & Blair Warehime

of Parker, Colorado, Karen & Norbert Vazquez of Pasadena, California and Kim & Bill Gribble of Houston, Texas;

8 grandchildren and 2 sisters in law, Mary Jane Tormey of Aurora, Colorado and Nancy Tormey of Ft. Collins, Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jack & Dale Tormey and a son, Kurt Benson.

A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Immanuel

Lutheran Church, 1865 14th Avenue in Greeley.  Inurnment will be in the Eaton Cemetery.
