It’s so interesting to observe failing systems propping up other failing systems.  That’s why it came as no surprise when the ailing, failing Lib Trib came out with yet another whack and attack piece against District 6 School Board member Brett Reese, as though he is solely responsible for the failing debacle known as the local school system.  Trib Editor B-b-b-bangert laid aside his objective journalistic pretenses years ago, and now picks and chooses his sides with impugnity.  He is clearly in love with bureacracy and all things status quo in District 6.  This is why you and I must also be wary of every other piece of watery gruel he publishes.  He is danger, masquerading as objectivity.

The attack piece in the Trib failed to look at the true issues, choosing to focus only on one school board member.  The Tribbies have been silent as to why teachers are actually frightened and hesitant to deal with the administration.  They have failed to write any type of an expose regarding the discipline issues that have been raised by parents of Heath students.  They mock any type of innovation, criticize charter schools (unless forced to provide grudging acceptance), and treat every other board member as if they are above reproach.  So why Reese?

Well you see, Reese is an ordinary person.  He is the only elected member of the school board.  He is an average, working citizen.  He is not retired, independently wealthy, nor does he march to Ranelle Lang’s beck and call.  He isn’t always able to attend meetings with only a 24 hour notice.  (Could you?)  He doesn’t attend portions of retreats that are nothing more than indoctrination sessions given to make good little idiots of new board members.  He doesn’t like being lectured for his “misdeeds” when in reality the system lecturing him is broken.  This is what society hates.  It’s free-thinking, hard-working independence.  And there needs to be more of it on the school board, not less.

However, in all fairness, why don’t you decide?  First, decide by reading the Lib Trib article (Link here to the Tribby-Poo).  Then go over to the quickly growing Greeley Gazette and read their response (it’s linked here).  Think for yourselves.  You may think Mr. Reese is a piece of garbage.  You may think otherwise.  The truth is that every proposal he has had, has met with outright hostility and there’s a reason for that.  How would you operate if you were in his shoes?  You are smart enough to judge for yourself.  Go ahead.  Think it through.
