Daisy LaRue Schaffer

 

October 15, 1925 ~ April 25, 2011

 

Daisy LaRue Schaffer (Stanley) of Greeley died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center.  She was born October 15, 1925 in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania.  She was raised in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

 

On January 26, 1946, she married Charles Owen Schaffer in West Reading, Pennsylvania.  She worked in the textile industries as a seamstress.  She made window coverings for Haddock Draperies in Port Charlotte, Florida, when she retired.  After retirement, Charles and Daisy traveled by motor home between Deming, New Mexico, and Wilcox, Arizona for 10 years. They returned to Lakeland, Florida, where Charles passed in 2000.

 

Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards, puzzles, word searches, and puzzle books, and her pet dogs and cats.  Above all was her family and she loved to see her grandkids’ sporting events.

 

She is survived by her sons Philip O. Schaffer (Mary Ellen) of Wernersville, Pennsylvania and Michael I. Schaffer (Josette) of Greeley, Colorado; six grandchildren, Jeff Schaffer, Lori Ann Schwalm, Kimberly Schaffer, Scott Schaffer, Ben Schaffer and Kayla Schaffer; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Wagner and nephew Steven Wagner.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
